Hamar Zsolt vezényletével
Műsorváltozás
The programme features masterpieces by two of the leading personalities of the Romantic era that emerged in the first half of the 19th century. Schumann’s symphony is a curious work. Its four movements constitute a single coherent composition, and with its astonishing transformation of the themes, rich in lyrical and powerful images, Schumann himself called it a symphonic fantasia. Conducted by musical director of the Wiesbaden State Theatre, Zsolt Hamar, the second half of the programme features Mendelssohn’s 1831 cantata envisioning a fantastic world. Goethe’s poem portrays the clash between druids gathering for a pagan ritual in the Harz Mountains and Christians with visionary power. The colours, character and tension of the poem are further enhanced by Mendelssohn’s brilliant music.
