Dezső Ránki - piano - guest artist

Dezső Ránki completed his studies in 1973, when he graduated from the Budapest Music Academy as a pupil of Pál Kadosa and Ferenc Rados. While still an 18 year old student, he won first prize at the Zwickau International Schumann Competition and has given concerts ever since. He regularly performs in most European countries and has toured both North and South America on a number of occasions. He visits Japan every 2 to 3 years. He has played among others with the Berlin Philharmonic, the London Philharmonic, the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, the Orchestre National de Paris, the Tokyo NHK Orchestra and worked with a host of distinguished conductors such as Sir Georg Solti, Sándor Végh, Lorin Maazel and Zubin Mehta. He is an active chamber music performer and in recent years, has given 10 to 15 concerts a year with his partner and wife Edit Klukon, performing music for  piano duet and two pianos.
