Denis Kozhukhin - permanent guest conductor

 Denis Kozhukhin is one of the most promising pianists of his generation able to play at the top level as well as a solist as in chamber music. Born in 1986 in Russia, he began his studies in Balakirev School with N. Fish. He then studied in the High Music School Queen Sofia, in Madrid with Maestro D. Bashkirov and C. Martinez-Menher. He had also masterclasses with L. Fleisher, Z.Kocsis, S.Kovacevich, V. Margulis, M. Pressler, Fou Ts’ong.

He has received from the Queen Reina Sofia herself the Diplom of honour for the best solist and twice as best chamber music group for his Trio Cervantes. Denis is part of the selective International Academy Lake Como. He won the 1st prize in Vendome Prize 2009 and the 3rd Prize in Leed 2006. He played in festivals such as Progetto Martha Argerich in Lugano 2003, Santander, Louvre, Prestige Series in New York. Ruhr Klavier Festival, with orchestras such as the Halle Orchestra, Gulbenkian Orchestra. He is invited in numerous future concerts in all Europe such as Poland Chopin Festival, Lille Piano Festival, Bouffes du Nord, Jerusalem, the Hamburger Symphoniker conducted by Jeffrey Tate  (Brahms 1), Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra  conducted by Zoltan Kocsis (Prokofiev 2).

In 2010 Denis Kozhukhin was the winner of the 16th Queen Elisabeth Piano Competition, which . offers an opportunity to attract new, talented young musicians to Brussels.
