Beethoven Evenings with the Hungarian National Philharmonic

2012. 06. 27.

The nationally acclaimed open air concerts which have been organised since 1958 in the small rural town, Martonvasar, only 32 km from Budapest have a unique atmosphere. Besides the National Philharmonic these concerts feature excellent artists from Hungary and abroad.

The venue of the concerts, the island surrounded by the pond in the garden of Count Brunszvik’s manor house, was picked because –according to the records of that period- Beethoven, who were quite a close friend of the Brunszvik family spent a lot of time here.

The Romantic flavour of the manor house and the park provide a brilliant milieu for performing Beethoven’s works.

Before the concerts, at 5 pm free chamber concerts are to be organised.
