János Bálint - flute - guest artist
Flautist János Bálint was born in Hódmezővásárhely in 1961. He graduated from the Franz Liszt Music Academy in 1984 before pursuing post-graduate studies with András Adorján. Between 1981 and 1991, as solo flautist of the Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, he won prizes at a number of international competitions (e.g. Ancona, Leipzig.) He has been a member of the Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra since 2001. From 1990, he taught for over a decade at the Szeged Music College and for a year and a half at the Budapest Music Academy. From 1994, he worked as a guest professor at the Accademia Musicale di Rovigo in Italy, and did the same from 2000  at the Imola Incontro Col Maestro private academy. Since 2003, he has taught as a university professor at the Detmold Music College. He is the founder and artistic director of the Veszprém Auer Summer Academy. Each year, he conducts 8 to 10 master courses at various European institutions and festivals (among other, Vienna, Helsinki, London, Luxemburg). He has performed as a soloist at many European festivals and concert halls as well as in the United States, Japan, Taiwan and Israel. He has worked with artists such as Ruggero Ricci, György Cziffra, András Adorján, Auréle Nicolet, Alain Marion, Zoltán Kocsis and Tamás Vásáry. He has made around twenty CDs for the Hungaroton, Capriccio and Naxos labels.
