Feast at the Sun King – concert for youngs

2011. 01. 07.

The Marquise Ensemble invites young people on a time travel in the first concert of the Youth Series of the National Philharmonic Orchestra. The destination is one of the most luxurious royal courts in modern history, the unique world, one rich in arts, of Louis XIV in 17th-18th century France. You do not simply listen to beautiful pieces of music, composed – often accompanying choreographed stories – to entertain the Sun King: period costumes help to bring back the environment, the whole atmosphere of the age. The Marquise Ensemble presents the baroque, rococo and early classical works in period costumes and in a stage performance with an MC talking in rhymes as it was customary at the time to bring close to young people the spirit of that long bygone, interesting age.
