The story of the National Philharmonic Orchestra began in 1923, with the formation of the Metropolitan Orchestra, which rapidly became one of the pillars of Hungarian musical life.

The orchestra, together with the National Choir and the National Music Library, moved into its new home, the Palace of Arts, in early 2005. >>>

Due to the sudden disease of Mr. Berezovsky, tonight's soloist of the Rachmaninov Piano Concerto Nr. 3 will be the Korean-born Kun Woo Paik in the Palace of Arts. The program of the concert has not changed, Symphony Nr. 2 by Brahms will be performed after the intermission.
