He will be playing solo piano in a concerto by <em><strong>Aram Khachaturian<\/strong><\/em> (best known today for his Sabre Dance). Composed in an unusual key, the concerto made sensation in Western Europe in 1936.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\nBrimming with powerful rhythms and special melodies, the concerto was recorded in 2006 by Boris Berezovsky, a great advocate of Russian music, earning accolades from both the profession and the audiences. Also in the programme is a dazzling prelude to a comic opera, <em>The Silent Woman<\/em> written by <em><strong>Richard Strauss<\/strong><\/em> (around the same time as the concerto) to a libretto by Stefan Zweig. The second half of the concert will feature a classic masterpiece, <em>Thaikovsky&#8217;sSymphony No.4<\/em> with magnificent melodies and dramatic force.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Russian conductor,<strong> Dmitri Liss<\/strong> is compared by some to Leonard Bernstein; he is considered among the world&#8217;s finest interpreters of Tchaikovsky and of contemporary music, and has a special gift for working with young people. <br \/>\nIt is not the first time that the Artistic Director\/Chief Conductor of the Ural Philharmonic Orchestra is staged together with Boris Berezosky, thus a special authentic music experience can be expected.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Recently an interview was made with Boris Berezovsky on the phone:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>&ldquo;Khachaturian Piano Concerto was mine idea to play, to be honest, and I think it was a very good one!
