Mikl\u00f3s Sebesty\u00e9n was born in 1979 in Budapest, where he started his musical studies from an early age on. In his hometown he trained singing and played several instruments. He received his first singing training at the music school and conservatory in Budapest. He was awarded several prizes at national and international singing competitions.In October 2002 he continued his studies at the Hochschule f\u00fcr Musik Z\u00fcrich with L\u00e1zl\u00f3 Polg\u00e1r and became a member of the opera studio T\u00f3th Alad\u00e1r, Since 2005 the bass continued his studies in Munich at the Hochschule f\u00fcr Musik und Theater.\u00a0\u00a0He made his debut at the International Music Festival in Miskolc\/Hungary in 2009, where he was accompanied by the Budapest Philharmonic in Sch\u00f6nberg\u2019s Moses und Aron.<\/p>\r\n
Mikl\u00f3s Sebesty\u00e9n regularly gives recitals, where his repertoire includes lieder by Brahms, Wolf, Schubert, and Schumann. He is a busy concert singer with a<\/p>\r\n
repertoire by composers such as J. S. Bach, Beethoven, H\u00e4ndel, Haydn, Mozart, and Schubert. In 2009, Mikl\u00f3s Sebesty\u00e9n made his debut at the Klangvokal Musikfestival in Dortmund, where he sang Haydn\u2019s The Creation.<\/p>\r\n

Miklos Perenyi was born in Budapest into a musical family. At the age of five he received his first cello lessons from Miklos Zsamboki, a former pupil of David Popper, and at the age of seven he was admitted to the Ferenc Liszt Music Academy Budapest where he studied with Professor Ede Banda. He made his debut in Budapest at the age of nine. He had further studies at the Accademia Santa Cecilia Roma with Professor Enrico Mainardi. In 1962 he was a prize winner at the International Casals Competition held in Budapest. In 1965 and 1966 Pablo Casals invited him to join his master classes in Zermatt and Puerto Rico and this was followed by an invitation to perform at the Marlboro Festival for four consecutive years. In 1974 he was appointed a teacher at the Ferenc Liszt Music Academy Budapest, where he is now Professor of the cello department. As an acknowledgement of his musical activites he was awarded the Kossuth Prize in 1980, and the Bartok-Pasztory Prize in 1987. As a soloist and a chamber musician he has appeared in many musical centres and festivals in Europe as well as in America, Japan and China. He has a very extensive repertoire, including pieces from the 17th and 18th centuries to the present day. Miklos Perenyi is also involved in composing and his compositions include pieces for cello and works for small and large chamber ensembles. He has made a number of radio recordings as well as discs for the Hungaraton, Quint, Sony, Teldec, Erato, Col Legno and Decca record labels, and for Metropolitan Video. He was one of the few Hungarian musicians who were highly regarded on the international scene as well. His career started at the age of 18 when he triumphed at the Beethoven Piano Competition organised by the Hungarian Radio. Following that victory he received an increasing number of invitations to the music centres and festivals of Europe, Northern and Southern America and the Far East. He was only 25 when Sviatoslav Richter invited him for a recital and four-hands piano concerts with him during his festival in France and the second Schubertiade in Austria. At the Budapest Academy of Music Zolt\u00e1n Kocsis learnt from P\u00e1l Kadosa, Ferenc Rados and Gy\u00f6rgy Kurt\u00e1g among others. He worked with the greatest conductors such as Claudio Abbado, Christoph von Dohn\u00e1nyi, Edo de Waart, Charles Mackerras, Lovro von Mata\u010di\u0107, Charles Dutoit, Herbert Blomstedt, Michael Tilson, Thomas, Colin Davis and Lorin Maazel. He was globally known as one of the leading promoters and \u00a0interpreters of B\u00e9la Bart\u00f3k\u2019s works. The central part of his repertoire also contained works of Claude Debussy and Rachmaninov. His record containing piano pieces of the French composer won multiple awards and the recording of \u00a0Rachmaninov\u2019s all four piano concerts performed with the San Francisco Philharmonic conducted by Edo de Waart was a great success. He was also considered to be one of the best performers of the music of Gy\u00f6rgy Kurt\u00e1g, who even dedicated several of his works to him. \u00a0Kocsis had been the artistic director of the award-winning Bart\u00f3k New Series launched in 2006. The series included authentic recordings of works of B\u00e9la Bart\u00f3k, one of the greatest composers of the 20<\/span>th<\/span> century, \u00a0<\/span>giving full consideration to the composer\u2019s intentions and performed by the most prominent Hungarian musician<\/span><\/a>s. The series comprised Kocsis\u2019s brilliant performances of Bart\u00f3k\u2019s complete works for solo piano and outstanding recordings of the composer\u2019s orchestral works conducted by Kocsis. \u00a0The new recordings of Duke Bluebeard\u2019s Castle and the Miraculous Mandarin were completed in 2016. The first album of Bart\u00f3k\u2019s choral works was released in May 2016 with M\u00e1ty\u00e1s Antal conducting the National Choir and the Slovak Philharmonic Choir with \u00a0Zolt\u00e1n Kocsis\u2019s son, Kriszti\u00e1n playing the piano. The series has won numerous prestigious awards (<\/span>Midem Classic Award, Diapason d\u2019or, Pizzicato Supersonic Award, Hungaroton Gold Album, Hungaroton Platinum Album, \u201cChoc\u201d Award of Le Monde de la Musique, Diapason Award, Gramofon Classic Music Award, BBC Music Magazine Award nomination). Zolt\u00e1n Kocsis also features in t<\/span><\/a>he box set entitled Great Pianists of the 20<\/span>th<\/span> century released in 1999 by Philips Records, a major record label. <\/span>\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nIn 1997 Kocsis took over the management of the National Philharmonic Orchestra (formerly known as the Hungarian State Orchestra), which was considered to be one of the best symphonic orchestras in Hungary. \u00a0His appointment was a major milestone in the history of the orchestra and his career. During the two decades of his management he created a new and distinctive profile for the orchestra, which is still valid today. Besides the classics, the orchestra plays great compositions \u00a0missing from conventional repertoires and notable works of Hungarian composers. Under the management of Kocsis, the orchestra performed some of the rarely played operas and ballets of Richard Strauss (in chronological order: Daphne, Capriccio, The Silent Woman, Legend of Joseph and Peace Day). The orchestra was the first in Hungary to perform Arnold Schoenberg\u2019s grandiose cantata, the Gurre-Lieder and his unfinished opera entitled Moses and Aron. The latter caused an international sensation as Zolt\u00e1n Kocsis had completed the third act in line with the composer\u2019s instructions with great stylistic consistency. The orchestra conducted by Kocsis also performed Debussy\u2019s opera entitled Pell\u00e9as and M\u00e9lisande and his cantata: The Prodigal Son. Kocsis was also actively promoting 20-21. century contemporary Hungarian music by performing works of \u00a0outstanding Hungarian composers like Gy\u00f6rgy Kurt\u00e1g, Zolt\u00e1n Jeney, S\u00e1ndor Szokolay, Attila Bozay and Zsolt Durk\u00f3. <\/span>\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nThe National Philharmonic Orchestra managed and conducted by Kocsis has worked with famous soloists such as Krist\u00f3f Bar\u00e1ti, Boris Berezovsky, Kirill Gerstein, G\u00e1bor Farkas, Barnab\u00e1s Kelemen, Denis Matsuev, Olli Mustonen, Emanuel Pahud, Mikl\u00f3s Per\u00e9nyi, Dezs\u0151 R\u00e1nki, Alexander Toradze, Arcadi Volodos and Yuja Wang. Kocsis was also a very active chamber musician, he performed with Mikl\u00f3s Per\u00e9nyi, Barnab\u00e1s Kelemen, Ferenc Rados, Andrea Rost, K\u00e1lm\u00e1n Berkes, Joshua Bell, Dezs\u0151 R\u00e1nki, Polina Pasztircs\u00e1k, the Keller String Quartet and the Tak\u00e1cs Quartet among others.<\/span>\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nKocsis regularly offered masters courses and he was constantly searching for talented young musicians to support. He enjoyed working with young musicians from Hungary and from all around the world. Kocsis gave very successful concerts at major festivals in Edinburgh, Paris, Tours, Lucerne, La Roque d\u2019Anth\u00e9ron, Salzburg, Prague, Menton and Verbier. He was regularly invited to sit on the juries of international competitions. <\/span>\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nIn addition to his numerous activities, Kocsis was also a composer. In an interview he admitted that he would have wanted to spend more time with composing. In 1970s he used to be a member of an influential Hungarian contemporary music workshop, the New Music Studio. <\/span>\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nIn 2010 his thorough knowledge of music styles was demonstrated by his composing exercises in style based on a popular Hungarian Christmas song entitled: Kiskar\u00e1csony, nagykar\u00e1csony (Little Chrismas, Big Christmas). He composed 47 variations of this song in various styles from the history of music. \u00a0The concert film containing this composition came out before Christmas 2011 on DVD. <\/span>\r\n\r\nZolt\u00e1n Kocsis orchestrated and transcribed for piano as many as 140 musical pieces of Bach, Haydn, Johann Strauss, Dvo\u0159\u00e1k, Debussy, Ravel, Rachmaninov, Wagner, Enescu, Bart\u00f3k and Kod\u00e1ly. Kocsis, a two-time reciepient of the Kossuth Award, was awarded the Prima Primissima Prize, the l\u2019Ordre des Arts et des Lettres of the Republic of France and Hungarian Olympic Committee\u2019s Fair Play Life Award. He was full member of the Sz\u00e9chenyi Academy of Literature and Art. In every May for more than 25 years he had been giving charity concerts on his birthday for the benefit of the International Children\u2019s Safety Service. He was actively working during his serious illness until his death on 6<\/span>th<\/span> November 2016. Kriszti\u00e1n Kocsis was born on September 10th 1997 in Budapest. As a child of his musician parents, the classical music has always played an important role in his life. Very early, at the age of 4 he composed and improvised already, listened to music all day and played the piano. This was the time when he got acquanted with the outstanding music and piano teacher, Erika Becht who is currently his teacher at the P\u00e1l J\u00e1rd\u00e1nyi School of Music. For his general education he attends the St. Stephen Music High School in Budapest. In 2010 Kriszti\u00e1n Kocsis won the first prize at the Twelfth National Piano Competition in Ny\u00edregyh\u00e1za. In 2011 at the Third B\u00e9la Bart\u00f3k National Piano Competition he became awarded with Special Prize. In the 2012-13 season he was a regular contributor to the series 'Six episodes Debussy's life\" held at the Palace of Arts Festival Theater. In January 2013 he debuted with great success at the B\u00e9la Bart\u00f3k National Concert Hall in Budapest, performing Mozart 's K.414 in A major Piano concerto with the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra. In May 2013, at the age of 15, he was awarded the Philomuses prize at the Ile de France International Piano Competition, Paris, France. At the beginning of 2014, he gave a concert in Szolnok, where he played Mozart's A Major (K. 488) Piano Concerto with considerable success. He receives many invitations to play recitals and perform with orchestras.
