The work is a musical setting of the sequence of eulogies to love, in the original order. In Plato, each new speaker reflects on the merits and flaws of the speech delivered by the previous speaker. Accordingly, in Bernstein the new musical elements are developments or elaborations of the music of the previous movement.\r\nThe following men deliver speeches at the symposium <\/em>(or drinking party): I. Phaedrus and Pausanias; II. Aristophanes; III. Eryximachus; IV. Agathon; and V. Socrates and Alcibiades. The work can be regarded the composer\u2019s musical self-portrait, with its generous and noble first movement, its puerile second, unbridled and playful third, serene and tender fourth movement. Her singing performance was first awarded in 2004, when she won the first prize and the special prize of the Sim\u00e1ndy J\u00f3zsef Singing Competition in Szeged, Hungary. (Zsuzsanna Gr\u00e1f - 2009 - being awarded by the Hungarian National Heritage Award)<\/p>\r\nAngelica Girls\u2019 Choir was founded in 1989 by Zsuzsanna Gr\u00e1f, who has been leading and conducting the choir since then. The choir members are current and former students of V\u00e1rosmajori Secondary School, Budapest.\r\nThe former students attend different universities in Budapest. In the past 25 years the choir has performed at a great number of concerts, festivals and choir competitions promoting the choir pieces of Zolt\u00e1n Kod\u00e1ly, B\u00e9la Bart\u00f3k and contemporary Hungarian composers. Contemporary Hungarian composers have key roles in the repertoire of Angelica Girls' Choir. Presenting and endearing contemporary music pieces resulted in the friendship of famous and outstanding Hungarian contemporary composers (Erzs\u00e9bet Sz\u0151nyi, Mikl\u00f3s Kocs\u00e1r, Boldizs\u00e1r Cs\u00edky, Gy\u00f6rgy Orb\u00e1n, P\u00e9ter T\u00f3th, Levente Gy\u00f6ngy\u00f6si). Angelica Girls' Choir premiered several of their music pieces at concerts and festivals.\r\n\r\nThe choir has participated in numerous choir competitions with tremendous success. They came first in the international choir competitions of Debrecen (Hungary), Arezzo and Rome (Italy), Neerpelt (Belgium), Tolosa (Spain) and Cork (Ireland). They won the gold medal in the 10th Choir Olympics in Athens (Greece). Furthermore, they toured in North- and South America, Japan and Europe. They sang in the Notre-Dame Cathedral (Paris), Saint Peter's Cathedral (Rome), Saint Michael's Cathedral (Brussels) and in the European Parliament. They are regular participants of the Spring Festivals, Budapest, they sing in prestigious concert halls (the Concert Hall of the Academy of Music, Budapest Music Centre, Palace of Arts, Festetics Palace) and in the greatest churches of Budapest (Saint Stephen\u2019s Basilica, Matthias Church). Angelica Girls' Choir gives concerts with outstanding musicians and orchestras, such as Andrea V\u00edgh, Gergely Bog\u00e1nyi, Ildik\u00f3 Cserna, Budapest Festival Orchestra, The Symphonic Orchestra of the Hungarian Radio, Dohn\u00e1nyi Orchestra, Danubia Orchestra, Budapest String Orchestra and Honv\u00e9d Choir. The voice of the choir is preserved through radio and television recordings and they have released seven Cds.\r\n\r\nIn 2009 Angelica Girls\u2019 Choir was honoured with the Hungarian Heritage Award; in 2013 they were awarded Junior Prima Award, and PRIMA Award in 2014.\r\nThe leader and conductor of the choir, Zsuzsanna Gr\u00e1f, is a prominent musician, who has been given Artisjus Award three times. Between 1990 and 2016 it was headed by M\u00e1ty\u00e1s Antal, who was succeeded by Csaba Somos on 1 January 2016. The choir is one of Hungary\u2019s leading professional choirs. It boasts a rich repertoire chiefly consisting of orchestra-accompanied and a capella choral music, as well as oratorios, ranging from works by the early-Baroque Sch\u00fctz to Bach, Viennese Classical, 19th<\/sup> and 20th<\/sup>-century composers, and contemporary music. The Hungarian National Choir is open to every genre and is dedicated to performing rarely heard works.
