Composed to the closing scene of the Danish Romantic poet Gottlob Oehlenschl\u00e4ger\u2019s lyrical drama <em>Aladdin<\/em>, the monumental symphony has five movements and features a male chorus in the finale. The exciting work is performed by Kun Woo Paik (celebrating his 70<sup>th<\/sup> birthday this year) who is as eccentric among pianists as Ferruccio Busoni (celebrating his 150<sup>th<\/sup> this year) was in his own time. The South-Korean pianist is considered to be a curious figure on the international music scene, captivating his audiences in mature, unusual productions and breathtaking virtuosity. A 3. t\u00e9tel (Pezzo serioso) a leghosszabb, n\u00e9gy r\u00e9szes szerkezet\u00e9vel, tematikus visszat\u00e9r\u00e9seivel \u00f6nmag\u00e1ban is teljes \u00e9rt\u00e9k\u0171 versenym\u0171nek sz\u00e1m\u00edt. Busoni zen\u00e9je ez\u00fattal is t\u00f6bbsz\u00f6r t\u0171nik \u00f6nc\u00e9l\u00faan zs\u00fafoltnak, de itt ker\u00fcl legk\u00f6zelebb ahhoz, amit a klasszikus-romantikus m\u0171faji hagyom\u00e1ny alapj\u00e1n a k\u00f6z\u00f6ns\u00e9g concert\u00f3k\u00e9nt elv\u00e1rhat. A 4. t\u00e9tel (All\u2019Italiana \u2013 Tarantella) nehezebb j\u00e1tszani val\u00f3t k\u00edn\u00e1l, mint eddig a darab b\u00e1rmikor. Szinte t\u00e9bolyult, \u0151rj\u00f6ng\u0151en vad sodr\u00e1sa ellen\u00e9re egys\u00e9ges zenei kompoz\u00edci\u00f3 benyom\u00e1s\u00e1t kelti.\r\nAz 5. t\u00e9tel (Cantico) Adam Oehlenschl\u00e4ger Himnusz Allahhoz c\u00edm\u0171 vers\u00e9nek megzen\u00e9s\u00edt\u00e9se. Busoni Oehlenschl\u00e4ger Aladdin, avagy a csodal\u00e1mpa c. verses dr\u00e1m\u00e1ja nyom\u00e1n \u00f6sszm\u0171v\u00e9szeti darabot tervezett, \u00e9s a befejezetlen\u00fcl maradt m\u0171 z\u00e1r\u00f3k\u00f3rus\u00e1t a zongoraversenyben haszn\u00e1lta fel. Nem is a szavak jelent\u00e9se, hanem a var\u00e1zslat jelleg volt fontos a sz\u00e1m\u00e1ra. A l\u00e1thatatlan f\u00e9rfikar v\u00e9gig akkordokat \u00e9nekel, mintha egy sz\u00f6veget megsz\u00f3laltat\u00f3 harsonaegy\u00fcttese lenne. Szinte teljesen \u00e1tveszi a sz\u00f3l\u00f3hangszer szerep\u00e9t, az pedig felold\u00f3dik az hangz\u00e1s eg\u00e9sz\u00e9ben. (Gombos L\u00e1szl\u00f3)<\/p>{:}{:en}Italian-born German pianist and composer Ferruccio Busoni (1866\u20131924) settled in Berlin after an adventurous youth, and premi\u00e8red his monumental Piano Concerto in C major (op. 39) there in 1904. With a male choir in the closing movement, the seventy-minute work is considered to be the longest-ever piano concerto. The piano assumes a different role in comparison with traditional concerti in that it now plays extremely long and challenging passage, now it blends into the orchestral sonority, and never plays any of the major themes.\r\n\r\n<!--more-->\r\n\r\nMovement one (<em>Prologo e Introito<\/em>) sets off with a hymnic string melody from which all of the others are derived. Movement two (<em>Pezzo giocoso<\/em>) is a sort of scherzo with Italian melodies and rhythms; without, however, any folk-music references. Movement three (<em>Pezzo serioso<\/em>) is the longest, consisting of four parts and, with its recapitulations, constituting a concerto in its own right. Movement four (<em>All\u2019Italiana \u2013 Tarantella<\/em>) offers more challenging music than before in the work. In spite of its wildly raging flow, it has the impression of being a coherent musical composition. Movement five (<em>Cantico<\/em>) is a setting of Danish playright Adam Oehlenschl\u00e4ger\u2019s poem <em>Hymn to Allah<\/em>.\u00a0 The off-stage male choir sings chords and completely takes over the role of solo instrument.
