The Hungarian National Choir has announced a master class in choral conducting for young choirmasters.<\/p>\n

The professors teaching the master class are Gary Graden, choirmaster of the St. Jacobs Kirche in Stockholm, and Csaba Somos, choirmaster of the Hungarian National Choir.<\/p>\n

The six young conductors selected from among the applicants for the course \u2013 artists from England, Poland, Spain and Hungary \u2013 have all already launched their careers, leading ensembles small and large, and many have also had successful showings in competitions. This course, which starts on 27 February 2022, will focus primarily on contemporary a cappella works, meaning ones from the late 20th and early 21st centuries. Representing earlier eras will be now classic works from the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century, by Jozef Rheinberger and Frank Martin, respectively. The most exciting part of the evening will come in the second half, which features the Hungarian premi\u00e8res of works by composers from Northern Europe performed under the authentic direction of the teacher of the master class, Gary Graden.<\/p>\n
