{"id":109871,"date":"2019-04-24T06:17:18","date_gmt":"2019-04-24T06:17:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.filharmonikusok.hu\/?post_type=concerts&#038;p=109871"},"modified":"2019-11-22T12:10:57","modified_gmt":"2019-11-22T12:10:57","slug":"szine-fonakja","status":"publish","type":"concerts","link":"https:\/\/www.filharmonikusok.hu\/en\/koncertek\/szine-fonakja\/","title":{"rendered":"Front and Reverse"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Concertos for string orchestra and &#8220;pipa&#8221; (which isn&#8217;t a kind of pipe, but rather a Chinese plucked instrument) and for full orchestra and alphorn, the <em>African Symphony<\/em>, works for famous jazz musicians, operas: the oeuvre of the 48-year-old Swiss-born and New York-based composer Daniel Schnyder is both broad and colourful. His 2000 oratorio <em>The Revelation of St. John<\/em>, based on the <em>Book of Revelations<\/em>) also reveals a host of influences. After winning great favour with audiences in cities around the world, the composition is now making its Budapest d\u00e9but. This novelty of around half an hour in length will be paired with a well-known masterpiece by Brahms as the second piece in the concert: The <em>German Requiem<\/em>. The text of the piece is not a German translation of the Latin requiem mass, but a selection of biblical verses carefully selected and compiled by the composer himself. This extraordinarily inspired and massive work brought Brahms fame around the world. The composer had previously only been known in German-speaking countries, but shortly after the 1869 world premi\u00e8re of the full seven-movement version, the <em>Requiem<\/em> was performed in London and Saint Petersburg, and not much later in Paris. It took a bit longer to make it to Hungary, where it was first performed in 1884, at the Vigad\u00f3 Concert Hall. Her repertoire includes songs, oratorios and opera arias.\r\n\r\nShe began singing as a 13-year-old in Gy\u0151r, a city where she also completed her later studies.\r\nIn 2007, she graduated from the vocal soloist department of the Varga Tibor Institute of Musical Art.
