A G-d\u00far zongoraverseny befejez\u00e9s\u00e9nek d\u00e1tuma 1806 nyara, a IV. szimf\u00f3nia, a Heged\u0171verseny, a Razumovszikj von\u00f3sn\u00e9gyesek kora, teh\u00e1t az az id\u0151szak Beethoven \u00e9letm\u0171v\u00e9ben, amikor nem a s\u00f6t\u00e9t t\u00f3nus\u00fa m\u0171vek domin\u00e1lnak. A zenekari anyag jelent\u0151s\u00e9ge folyamatosan n\u00f6vekedett m\u00e1r a kor\u00e1bbi versenym\u0171vekben is, de a G-d\u00far zongoraverseny zenekara sz\u00e9les fel\u00fcletekben gondolkodik, szinte \u00f6n\u00e1ll\u00f3 szimfonikus anyaga van.
\nA G-d\u00far zongoraverseny legh\u00edresebb t\u00e9tele a m\u00e1sodik (Andante con Moto), amelyet Liszt jellemz\u00e9se nyom\u00e1n Orfeusz \u00e9s az alvil\u00e1gi hatalmak vit\u00e1jak\u00e9nt tart sz\u00e1mon az ut\u00f3kor. Nem tudjuk, hogy Beethovent\u0151l ered-e ez a hasonlat, de tal\u00e1l\u00f3an jellemzi a szomor\u00fa monol\u00f3got deklam\u00e1l\u00f3 zongorasz\u00f3lam \u00e9s a r\u00e1 eleinte indulatosabban, majd egyre szel\u00eddebben v\u00e1laszol\u00f3 zenekar p\u00e1rbesz\u00e9d\u00e9t. Mintha Orfeusz f\u00e1jdalma megenyh\u00edtette volna az alvil\u00e1got.
\nA megszak\u00edt\u00e1s n\u00e9lk\u00fcl k\u00f6vetkez\u0151 Rond\u00f3 fin\u00e1l\u00e9 (Vivace) igazi felold\u00e1st hoz. A r\u00f6gt\u00f6nz\u00e9sjelleg ebben a t\u00e9telben is megfigyelhet\u0151, de a fant\u00e1zia csapong\u00e1sa kiegyens\u00falyozottabb, mint az els\u0151 t\u00e9telben. The opening of Beethoven's Fourth Piano Concerto has no parallel in the repertoire. Concertos usually begin with a powerful orchestral introduction that exudes energy. In virtually all of the concertos of Mozart, Haydn and their contemporaries, the solo instrument only makes its entry after this first orchestral statement, by which time the orchestra has already stated the main material. In Beethoven's G major concerto, the piano begins with an infinitely simple passage that presents in a hushed confession, the principal motif. It creates the effect of the composition unfolding from the personal confession of the soloist. The orchestra then answers the pianist's phrase in a distant B major. Such tonal daring at the beginning of a work was not to be repeated again until Liszt's A major concerto, written fifty years later. The first movement continues in more traditional vain: we hear a sonata form bridging section and subsidiary and closing themes. Since the concerto began with a tender, pianissimo theme, on this occasion the secondary theme is of a more "masculine" character.<\/p>\n

 The slow movement has encouraged some to interpret it in the light of the Orfeus myth. This association is not without foundation, since the piano solo pits extreme eloquence against strange unison replies from the orchestra, a depiction perhaps of the furies from another world being tamed by Orfeus's song.<\/p>\n

 The finale follows on attacca from the slow movement. Its principal theme appears from afar. Initially it not only played softly, but approaches the basic tonality of G major from C major. Orfeus then has escaped from the world of the shades, and listening to Beethoven's music, it appears he has extricated Euridice: one of the characteristic themes of the closing rondo proclaims triumph and happiness<\/p>\n

The G major piano concerto was first performed in 1807 in Prince Lobkowitz's palace. A zeneszerz\u0151 arra a saj\u00e1t maga szervezte hangversenyre – akkori elnevez\u00e9ssel akad\u00e9mi\u00e1ra – kompon\u00e1lta, amely 1803. \u00e1prilis 8-\u00e1n, a Nagyh\u00e9t keddj\u00e9n hangzott el a b\u00e9csi Theater an der Wienben. \nAz orat\u00f3rium impoz\u00e1ns z\u00e1r\u00f3k\u00f3rus\u00e1n az \u0151sbemutat\u00f3 egyik kritikusa Haydn Teremt\u00e9s\u00e9nek hat\u00e1s\u00e1t fedezte fel, s Beethoven m\u0171v\u00e9nek t\u00f6bb m\u00e1s r\u00e9szlet\u00e9r\u0151l is esz\u00fcnkbe juthat a nagy el\u0151d \u00e9s mester alkot\u00e1sa. Val\u00f3j\u00e1ban azonban a k\u00e9t m\u0171 eg\u00e9szen m\u00e1s koncepci\u00f3t k\u00f6vet: a Teremt\u00e9s alapvet\u0151en elbesz\u00e9l\u0151 jelleg\u00e9vel szemben Beethoven Krisztusa kimondottan dr\u00e1mai fogantat\u00e1s\u00fa. Sz\u00f6vege J\u00e9zus emberi term\u00e9szet\u00e9t, f\u00e9lelmeit, v\u00edv\u00f3d\u00e1sait hangs\u00falyozza, s az eredeti partit\u00far\u00e1ban m\u00e9g sz\u00ednpadi (gesztusokat, t\u00e9rdrees\u00e9st stb. k\u00edv\u00e1n\u00f3) utas\u00edt\u00e1sok is szerepeltek. Beethoven’s only oratorio Christ on the Mount of Olives received its premi?re on 8 April 1803, the Tuesday of the Holy Week in that year, at the Theater an der Wien. Composed to the text of Franz Xaver Huber, the oratorio tells the beginning of Jesus’s passion, his fear of death during the night spent in the Garden of Gethsemane and his capture. It consists of six main parts: <\/p>\n

1. orchestral introduction and Jesus’s monumental recitative and aria; <\/p>\n

2. recitative and virtuoso coloratura soprano aria of Seraph (who only appears in the Gospel of Luke), which is joined by the choir;  3. recitative and duet of Jesus and Seraph; 4. Jesus’s recitative and the soldier’s march (chorus); <\/p>\n

5. capture of Jesus (recitative and chorus); recitative and trio (Peter (bass), Jesus and Seraph), final chorus with tenor solo.
\nBeethoven’s Christ is a dramatically conceived oratorio, highlighting Jesus’s human nature, fears and emotional turmoil. Typically, the composer wrote Jesus’s part for tenor solo, and the Saviour enters at the start of the work in a recitative and an aria almost like an operatic hero. Jesus’s capture in the fifth part is depicted as a complex dramatic series of events, condensed in the music of the two choirs: the brute force of the soldiers and the paralysed, fearful disciples. One of the most talented pianists of his generation, J\u00f3zsef Balog was born in 1979 in Budapest. Under the guidance of his father, he started learning the piano at the age of four. He studied for a piano teaching and chamber music diploma at the Liszt Ferenc Music University (Budapest) under Prof. Annam\u00e1ria Krause Bodoky, graduating in 2001. His graduate studies were under the direction of Prof. Jand\u00f3 Jen\u0151; . Along with the standard piano repertoire, he plays works by neglected composers (such as Burghardt, Bentzon, Rodrigo and Tansman) and he also plays jazz music and his own transcriptions. As a student, he took part in many music competitions, winning first prizes in several national competitions and also first prize at the Bart\u00f3k-Liszt International Piano Competition (Budapest 2001), Grand Prix at the Aleksander Tansman Music Competition (Lodz 2002), second prize at the Brahms International Music Competition (P\u00f6rtschach 2004), the special \u2018press\u2019 prize for the best performance of Liszt\u2019s Piano Sonata at the Franz Liszt International Piano Competition (Utrecht 2005), first prize at the Franz Liszt International Piano Competition (P\u00e9cs 2007), and second prize at the Carlo Soliva International Piano Competition (Casale Monferrato 2008). J\u00f3zsef Balog was given the Annie Fischer Award by the Hungarian Ministry for Culture in 2005. Kl\u00e1ra Kolonits began her singing studies as a private student of Katalin Schultz and in 1995, graduated from the Budapest Teacher Training Faculty of the Franz Liszt Music Academy as a solo singer, where her teacher was Zsuzsa Forrai. She later studied with Ionel Pantea and Anne Reynolds. From 1995 to 1997, he was a member of the Debrecen Csokonai Theatre and from 1997 to 1998, a guest at the Szeged National Theatre and the Szolnok Szigligeti Theatre before joining the Budapest Operetta Theatre where she was a member from 1998 to 2001. Since 2002 she has been a member of the Budapest State Opera House. In 1997, she won 2nd prize at the Third Budapest International Singing Competition and in 1997, the special prize at the Italian Toti dal Monte competition before winning 1st prize and the special award at the 2000 Hungarian Radio Singing Competition. In 2003, she came second and won the special prize at the International Haydn Singing Competition. In 1999, she participated in Duna Television's series of opera tales from Cluj. In 2005, she sang Judit in the film version of Bart\u00f3k's opera Prince Bluebeard's Castle. She has also been a guest performer in Austria, Holland, France and the United States. After the death of Zolt\u00e1n Kocsis, the Ferenc Liszt Award-winning Zsolt Hamar held the post of Musical Director at the Hungarian National Philharmonic from March 2017 to August 2020. He previously worked with the orchestra as its first permanent conductor and built up an impressive international career.\r\n\r\nThe Orchestra is one of the top interpreters of the work of B\u00e9la Bart\u00f3k, and the albums of the Bart\u00f3k New Series<\/em> have won numerous accolades in Hungary and abroad. The orchestra perform not only classics but also numerous other important works previously missing from the repertoire, many of which require a large orchestral apparatus. It attaches great importance to introducing contemporary Hungarian works to the audiences. It has given many popular chamber music concerts and hosted events for young people.\r\n\r\nThe orchestra\u2019s concerts have featured world-famous soloists and conductors. It supports young musicians recently embarked on an international career. In recent decades, the National Philharmonic Orchestra has appeared in the greatest venues and festivals around the world, including the Avery Fisher Hall in New York, the Suntory Hall in Tokyo, the Birmingham Symphony Hall, the Megaron in Athens, Bozar Centre in Brussels, the Enescu Festival in Bucharest, the Beethoven Festival in Bogot\u00e1, as well as the Colmar and Canary Island Festivals.
