It is a milestone in Hungarian music history in that it is the first Hungarian-style symphonic poem. Liszt intended it as a response to the poet Mih\u00e1ly V\u00f6r\u00f6smarty\u2019s ode inspired by his concerts in 1839 and 1840 in Pest. Although the musical material of Hungaria largely dates from the Reform Era, it is a reflection on the revolution and war of independence of 1848, not unlike the piano piece Fun\u00e9railles. The world premi\u00e8re was conducted by Liszt himself in Pest. The effect was in elementary: \u201ceveryone cries, both men and women,\u201d the composer recalled.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>S\u00c1NDOR BALASSA:\u00a0 Trumpet Concerto<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Page will be soon uploaded \u2026<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>LE\u00d3 WEINER: Csongor and T\u00fcnde <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>In 1913 the Hungarian National Theatre encharged the twenty-eight year old Leo Weiner with the compositon of an incidental music for Mih\u00e1ly V\u00f6r\u00f6smarty\u2019s dramatic poem: Csongor and T\u00fcnde. However the highly elaborated composition and symphonic orchestration surpassed the performing capacity of a dramatic theatre, hence the work was premiered only three years later at the Budapest Opera. Following the great success the composer has chosen six movements among the most beautiful symphonic parts of his incidental music, consisting of 23 movements, and made them suitable for concert performance. The orchestral suite was performed\u00a0 for the first time at the beginning of 1916 in Dresden under the baton of Fritz Reiner, followed by the Budapest premiere in the same year on 4th of February conducted by Istv\u00e1n Kerner. Actually the order of the six movements was no longer influenced by the theatrical plot but by the dramaturgy of the music. However the highly elaborated composition and symphonic orchestration surpassed the performing capacity of a dramatic theatre, hence the work was premiered only three years later at the Budapest Opera. Following the great success the composer has chosen six movements among the most beautiful symphonic parts of his incidental music, consisting of 23 movements, and made them suitable for concert performance. The orchestral suite was performed\u00a0 for the first time at the beginning of 1916 in Dresden under the baton of Fritz Reiner, followed by the Budapest premiere in the same year on 4th of February conducted by Istv\u00e1n Kerner. Actually the order of the six movements was no longer influenced by the theatrical plot but by the dramaturgy of the music. Following his studies at the Leo-Weiner-Conservatory, the young musician continued at the Franz Liszt Conservatory in Budapest and as a master class student under Professor Reinhold Friedrich before starting his international solo career. By winning the internationally renowned music competition of the ARD in Munich, Boldoczki celebrated his final breakthrough. The era marked by the name of J\u00e1nos Ferencsik and Kobayashi Ken-Ichiro was followed by a new chapter in the history of the orchestra when in 1997 Zolt\u00e1n Kocsis became general music director until his death. In almost two decades the National Philharmonic Orchestra underwent renewal. After the death of Zolt\u00e1n Kocsis, the Ferenc Liszt Award-winning Zsolt Hamar held the post of Musical Director at the Hungarian National Philharmonic from March 2017 to August 2020.
