He also completed master classes with Johannes\u00a0Moesus, J\u00fcrgen\u00a0J\u00fcrgens\u00a0and Yuri Simonov. He has been active as a choir leader since the age of 22 and served for nearly 17 years as the choirmaster of the\u00a0Vasas\u00a0Ensemble Chorus. In 2002, he founded the Lajos Vass Chamber Choir, which he led until 2017. He has also worked as the music director of the Debrecen\u00a0Csokonai\u00a0Theatre and later of the National Theatre of\u00a0P\u00e9cs, as well as held the position of chief choirmaster of the Hungarian Radio Choir. He has appeared as a guest conductor with numerous Hungarian symphonic orchestras and professional choirs. Csaba\u00a0Somos\u00a0has also made international guest appearances, including the Salerno Philharmonic Orchestra in Italy and the Sakata Philharmonic Orchestra in Japan and\u00a0is frequently invited\u00a0to Spain, Italy, Russia, Romania, Greece, Macedonia, Austria, Germany and China both as a choral- and orchestra conductor.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A teacher at the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music, he\u00a0is regularly asked\u00a0to serve as a member of the jury of music competitions and festivals. He is vice president of the Hungarian Association of Choirs, Orchestras and Folk Ensembles (K\u00d3TA). His professional work\u00a0was recognised\u00a0with a\u00a0Rub\u00e1nyi\u00a0Award, which was followed by a Liszt Award in 2014. In 2015, he earned his DLA, graduating\u00a0<em>summa cum laude<\/em>. Erkel had created national opera under its roof, and went on to compose what would become Hungary\u2019s national anthem. In the same year, the young \u00d6d\u00f6n Mihalovich composed a large-scale, moving funeral march for orchestra, which he dedicated to the memory of Ferenc De\u00e1k. He only began to refine the full details while living in Weimar in the 1850\u2019s. His work was characterised by immense care and self-criticism, and in all, he produced five versions.\u00a0 It was premiered finally in Weimar on February 17th 1855: Liszt was the soloist while the visiting Berlioz conducted. Although the work is in four movements, they are forged together into a single immense unit. The opening section begins with the energetic, heroic theme played by the orchestra, which is then followed by the piano in a bravura cadenza, marked by Liszt \u201cgrandioso.\u201d The principal orchestral theme undergoes various transformations but returns again and again in such a way as to be instantly recognisable \u2013 except in the tender slow movement. This is in B major, marked Quasi Adagio, and a beautiful cantabile melody emerges, played first by the muted strings to a chordal piano accompaniment. The solo cello receives an important role, but towards the end of this section, the flute suddenly interjects the playful anapaestic theme. Beats on the triangle indicate the Scherzo has begun. In the final movement, there is no new theme. We hear what has already been presented, but utterly transformed in character.
