I was born in Kecskem\u00e9t to two music teacher parents.<\/p>\n
My first cello teachers at the Kod\u00e1ly School were my mother and Iv\u00e1n T\u00f6r\u00f6k, the Hungarian State Opera’s principal cellist.<\/p>\n
Also advancing my development during those early years were Mrs Imre Korda, whom I knew as “Auntie Mata”, Lajos Frank and Ede Banda.<\/p>\n
I then attended high school in Szeged, at the high school of music there, where Katalin Sin was my teacher.<\/p>\n
Later, I earned my university degree from the Franz Liszt Academy of Music, after studying under Tam\u00e1s Ko\u00f3.<\/p>\n
Always primarily interested in playing in an orchestra and in chamber ensembles, and performing together with other musicians in general, I spent my years at the academy training to do just that.<\/p>\n
I learned how to play chamber music from K\u00e1roly Botvay, S\u00e1ndor Devich and G\u00e9za N\u00e9met.<\/p>\n
A pivotal experience for me was performing a concert in the Liszt Academy’s orchestra under the baton of Leonard Bernstein.<\/p>\n
I started my professional orchestral career as the principal cellist for the Danube Symphony Orchestra. In parallel with that, I also served as a regular auxiliary with the Hungarian State Symphony Orchestra.<\/p>\n
