The Hungarian G\u00e1bor Boldoczki with his brilliant play is the exceptional trumpeter of his generation. The international press also calls him a magnificent trumpet virtuoso.<\/p>\n
At the age of 14 this young exceptional trumpeter won the first prize at the National Trumpet Competition, Hungary. Following his studies at the Leo-Weiner-Conservatory, the young musician continued at the Franz Liszt Conservatory in Budapest and as a master class student under Professor Reinhold Friedrich before starting his international solo career. By winning the internationally renowned music competition of the ARD in Munich, Boldoczki celebrated his final breakthrough. He then received the \u201cGrand Prix de la Ville de Paris\u201d at the most distinguished trumpet competition of all \u2013 the Third International Maurice Andr\u00e9 Competition in Paris.<\/p>\n
During his European tours he performs with well-known orchestras like the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Mariinsky Theatre Symphony Orchestra, the Russian National Orchestra, Konzerthausorchestra Berlin, Czech Philharmonic, Vienna Symphony Orchestra as well as with internationally renowned chamber orchestras. Furthermore, he gives gala concerts with Edita Gruberova.<\/p>\n
Boldoczki was the first trumpet soloist worldwide to be invited to perform the trumpet concerts of Michael Haydn at the Salzburg festival.<\/p>\n
Afterwards the Austrian newspaper Salzburger Nachrichten ran the headline: \u201cA softly tongued articulation, the greatest agility, an extremely self-confident embouchure, a coloratura style \u2026 a soloist of this quality refines every piece of music.\u201d<\/p>\n
He gives regularly guest performances at the renowned concert halls such as Musikverein Vienna, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Philharmonie Berlin, Th\u00e9\u00e2tre des Champs-Elys\u00e9es, in Paris, KKL Lucerne, Palace of Arts in Budapest and the Great Hall of the Conservatorium Moscow. Furthermore, he follows concert invitations to South America, Japan and China.<\/p>\n
During the last years numerous successful CD-productions with the label Sony Classical have been published. Boldoczki dedicated his current album \u201cTromba Veneziana\u201d to the composer Antonio Vivaldi. The positive press reviews were reflected also in the music magazine Fono Forum:\u201d \u201cBoldoczki is convincingly virtuosic in the exuberant movements and bewitches in the slow middle parts, delicately portraying the melody.\u201d<\/p>\n
Besides his current album \u201eBohemian Rhapsody\u201c he recorded exclusively for the label SonyClassical amongst others the albums: \u201eTromba Veneziana\u201c, \u201eBach\u201c, \u201eItalian Concerts\u201c as well as the trumpet concertos by Haydn and Hummel. For his album \u201eOriental Trumpet Concertos\u201c the Hungarian trumpet virtuoso G\u00e1bor Boldoczki was honoured with the ICM Award for the best contemporary recording and with the ECHO Klassik Award as \u201eInstrumentalist of the Year\u201c.<\/p>\n
For considerable time G\u00e1bor Boldoczki has been in demand for contemporary music and their world premiere performances. G\u00e1bor Boldoczki accompanied for example Gidon Kremer and the Kremerata Baltica for the world premiere performance of Georg Pelecis\u2019 \u201cRevelation\u201c at the music festival Les mus\u00e9iques in Basel. At the Festival Mecklenburg-Vorpommern he premiered the trumpet concert by L\u00e1szl\u00f3 Dubrovay and as \u201cArtist in Residency\u201d he presented the premiere of Fazil Say\u00b4s trumpet concerto. Furthermore, G\u00e1bor Boldoczki gave the world premiere of Krzysztof Penderecki\u2019s first trumpet concerto at the Musikfestspiele Saar.<\/p>\n
G\u00e1bor Boldoczki was awarded the title \u201cDoctor Liberalium Artium\u201d by the famous Franz-Liszt Music Academy where he has a professorship, teaching the trumpet.<\/p>\n
Further on, G\u00e1bor Boldoczki was awarded the \u201cFranz Liszt Honor Prize\u201d, the most important prize of the Hungarian Ministry of Culture in the music-sector and lately he was honored the prize \u201cMusician of the year\u201d by the Hungarian Academy of Arts.<\/p>\n

His versatile repertoire ranges from Bach to Penderecki, from Vivaldi to Shostakovich to Hindemith, Takemitsu, Ligeti and Arvo P\u00e4rt.
